so, this group ist expanding beyond my imagination ….
to keep it simple, here the info again, for everyone who “got added” without having been informed by myself:

From August 1st to August 4th – which is now certain and fixed – I invite ex-EDDC people to Fuerth/Bavaria to a reunion meeting. We’ll have access to two studios with a kitchenette and a foyer. I can book accomodation or people can stay in the studio overnight as well – depending how big the whole thing gets.
My interest is to provide a meeting place for exchange, improvisation, talks, walks, maybe showing of work via beamer or live, … let’s see, what we will need at that time.
Please, everyone who plans to come and hasn’t contacted me yet, let me know and let me know your email Adress. At a certain point I would like to communicate with the group who will come via mail !

Last week I discovered that the SNDO-EDDC website was hacked. The information was still on the server, but there was no structure left. I built a new site and collected the information as well as I could. The structure is slightly different, but everything seems to be working again. Can’t help remembering my first computer at SNDO: a DOS operating, floppy-disks and no internet. Those were happy days.
I rescued all the names and email addresses of those who registered. Not the passwords though. So, if you want to write something, ask for a new password at login.

Many of the guest-teachers we invited to Amsterdam, Arnhem or Düsseldorf influenced my thinking about dance and dance education. The great thing with guest-teachers is that they are there for several weeks, only teach maybe four hours a day and for the rest of the time they are free, to talk with students, staff and me.
Steve came many times and I learned a lot from him, not always through talking, often just through spending time with him and me observing how he dealt with live as dance and dance as live.

This Summer, August 2010, Jaap Flier and his son Bas, spent some time at Boreas Farm (Hebron, NY). During his stay at the farm, Jaap showed a short solo he recently made. Bas improvised the music. Of course I should write about the history of and ideas behind SNDO and EDDC. It’s coming slowly, but still, I seem to have many hesitations. In the meantime I wrote something else.
